Successful public participation held to validate KISIP II Main Works Projects at Kiawara.
Department of Lands, Physical Planning and Urban Development Fredrick Maina led the County Project Coordinating Team (CPCT) and Gath Consulting Engineers in presiding over a successful public participation to validate the scope of the Second Kenya Informal Settlement Improvement Project (KISIP II) Main Works in Kiawara, Nyeri town held at the Nyeri Baptism Church Hall.
The Main Works to be done at the settlement include: Improved access roads, modern drainage systems, streetlights installation, erecting two dumpsters, sewer connections and a high mast installation.
Main Works are ongoing in the other four settlements namely; Kiamwathi and Chorong’i in Ruring’u ward, Nyeri Central sub-county, Mweiga in Mweiga ward, Kieni West sub-county and Ihwagi in Iria-ini ward, Mathira East sub-county.
Also present were; KISIP II County Project Coordinator Beatrice Koech, CPCT Project Manager Eng. Joseph Mwangi, Environmental Safeguards Officer Kennedy Kanoga, representatives from the Gath Consulting Engineers among others.
