Nyeri Governor H.E. Mutahi Kahiga  commissioned Gataragwa Farmers Cooperative Society milk Cooling plant in Mugunda Ward, Kieni West on 23rd November 2018.The milk cooler stationed at Bellevue trading centre was purchased by County Government of Nyeri and installed four months ago.Since then, the local milk production has increased from 1,000 litres to 1,500 litres daily.The management of the society is targeting 2,000 litres daily. Nyeri Governor H.E. Mutahi Kahiga Commissioned yet  another cooling plant, at Nairutia Dairy Cooperative Society, Mugunda Ward on 23rd November 2018 thus benefiting Nairutia Dairy Farmers. Since the milk cooler was installed in February this year, the milk collection has risen from 27,300 litres to 53,000 litres per month.
