Routine Inspection on KISIP II Main Works at Mweiga, Kiamwathi and Chorong’i

The Nyeri County Project Coordinating Team (CPCT) led by Project Coordinator Beatrice Koech in conjunction with the Consultant Gath Consulting Engineers and Losai Management Limited led by Resident Engineer Eng. Peter Gakobo today carried out a routine inspection and progress meeting of the ongoing Kenya Informal Settlement Improvement Program II (KISIP 2) Main Works at Mweiga, Kiamwathi and Chorong’i settlements in Kieni West and Nyeri town sub-counties respectively to monitor and evaluate the progress of the works.
The settlements will benefit from infrastructure upgrading including but not limited to; construction of tarmac roads with efficient drainage systems, street lights, footpaths, seamless water connections through trunk and consumer connections, solid waste management by installation of dumpsters in-line with the KISIP II primary development objective of improving access to basic services in informal settlements.
Also present were; Lands CO Fredrick Maina, Director Lands & Survey Daniel Mukiri, Project Manager Eng. Joseph Mwangi, Project Environmental Safeguards Kennedy Kanoga, Assistant Resident Engineer Eng. Zachary Waweru from Gath Consulting Engineers & Losai Management Ltd, Site agent Eng. Said Rajabs among other representatives from the Consultant and the Contractor – High Point & Pinne Agency Ltd.
