The National Government is planning on a CCTV Cameras Installation in Nyeri Town to enhance security in the town.The project is expected to embark in the next few months of the year 2018.cameras and is aimed to ensure reduction and control of insecurity cases in the town. Nyeri Governor H.E. Mutahi Kahiga, while addressing board members from the Tourism Regulatory Authority who paid him a courtesy call on 28th August 2018, said the cameras will be installed strategically around the town to ensure that there is safety within town. The cameras are expected to help security agencies i.e. the police to monitor the movement of vehicles and people as it is done in major cities like Nairobi.
The team toured the county on the 5th week of August 2018. Tourism Regulatory Authority is expected to bring in trainers for tourism players in order to meet the quality needed and to enhance skills in development and management. The County Government of Nyeri is committed to ensure effective regulation sector. The Authority will also hold a stakeholders’ meeting for tourism stakeholders soon in Nyeri.
Present also during the courtesy call are CEC in charge for Trade, Tourism and Cooperatives Diana Kendi, Chief Officer for Tourism Adan Eden and director Mary Kimamo.
