Kieni East Sub County Leadership Empowerment Forum for Youth, Women and Persons with Disabilities took place at Naromoru Catholic Hall on 26th July 2018 This is a continuation of the County Wide Programme organised by the Department of Gender and Social Services headed by CEC Esther Ndung’u. MCA for  Gakawa Ward Hon. Amos Kanyai  and  MCA for  Naromoru /Kiamathaga Ward Hon Matu  have graced the occasion.  The area residents commended the programme as very educative and informative.

The empowerment forums for Youth, Women and Persons with disabilities successfully ended on 27th July 2018 with Kieni – West Sub County being the last Venue. Access to clean healthy water for all residents of Nyeri County, is one of the main agenda of the CGN. In realization of the promise, the County Government of Nyeri, under the able leadership of H.E Governor Mutahi Kahiga has initiated Ngogithi Water Project in Thegu Ward, Kieni East. Construction of 225 cubic meters water storage tank has already began and nearing completion. #NyeriIthereme.

County Government of Nyeri will soon hire 126 more healthcare workers in different cadres in a bid to provide efficient service delivery in public health facilities in Nyeri County.
