On 31st July 2018, Agriculture CS Hon Mwangi Kiunjuri launched Kenya Coffee Platform. Nyeri County was represented by Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries CEC, Mr. Henry Kinyua. The new Othaya Level 6 Hospital has been renamed The  Mwai Kibaki Teaching and Referral Hospital and its operation run by the National Government. Health Services Principal Secretary Eng. Peter Tum together with Nyeri Governor H.E. Mutahi Kahiga and Othaya MP Hon Gichuki Mugambi toured the facility on 31st July 2018 and formed a committee which will ensure the hospital is operationalized in a fortnight. The County Government of Nyeri is committed to ensuring access to clean water is a reality to the Great people of Nyeri. The journey towards this realization began when the Deputy Governor of Nyeri H.E Caroline Karugu launched drilling of a new borehole in Konyu Ward, Mathira Constituency. There are 15 more boreholes in the process of drilling across the County.      

County Government of Nyeri and the people of Nyeri at large  was well represented in  Kenya Trade Week and Expo at KICC, Nairobi.  The event took place from 29th July to 3rd August 2018.Department of Trade and Tourism headed by CEC Diana Kendi organised and facilitated staff to exhibit Nyeri – made products.
